GrimFolio is a canvas-based creative planning tool built for people who design experiences. Haunted houses, escape rooms, theater productions, live events, tabletop RPG campaigns. If you are building something complex with rooms, scenes, flow, dependencies, props, and a hundred moving pieces, GrimFolio gives you one place to hold all of it.

It is a planning tool first. There is an optional AI collaborator named Grim who reads your entire project before he responds. The tool works completely without him. Most people who try him keep using him.

Who it's for

If you are building... GrimFolio helps you...
A haunted house or scare attraction Map rooms and scares, track props and budget, plan guest flow, manage your build
An escape room Design puzzle chains and dependencies, sequence the experience, track room elements
A theater production or live event Organize scenes, track production elements, plan the run of show
A tabletop RPG campaign Build your world, map faction and NPC relationships, plan session arcs
Anything with rooms, scenes, and a sequence Plan it spatially, connect it logically, export it cleanly

How it works

Stage 1 — The Pile

Every project starts with The Pile. No canvas, no structure, no pressure to have it figured out. Add cards for every idea — rooms, scenes, props, characters, mechanics. Give them a type. Write notes if you have them. The only job of Stage 1 is to capture everything.

Stage 2 — Build

When you're ready to make sense of your ideas, move to Build. Place cards on a canvas and connect them with labeled paths to show flow, dependencies, and relationships. Load a floor plan as a background image and place your room cards directly on top of it. Draw zone boundaries and annotate measurements with the drawing tools. Your whole project becomes visible on one screen.

Stage 3 — Production

When planning shifts to building, Stage 3 tracks the work. A customizable widget board surfaces your project as a command center — card lists, master checklists, budget dashboard, schedule, inventory, and more. Every change syncs instantly between Production and Build.

Grim

Grim is an optional AI collaborator built into every project. He reads your entire project — every card, every note, every connection, every reference document — before he responds. He finds gaps before opening night does, builds checklists, thinks through flow, and stress-tests your sequences. He is there when you want a second opinion.

The tool works completely without him.
